NO RESERVE - EXCELLENT GIFT IDEA!! This is a beautiful hand painted Moritz Zdekauer Austria Plate. The mark underneath the base is an MZ Altrohlau mark from 1900. The MORITZ ZDEKAUER porcelain company produced beaiutiful paste porcelains in the early 1900s - they were based in Austria, w perhaps the very roots of Limoges style porcelains began! Austrian handpainted porcelains have become very sought after in recent years as many of the Austrian factories were closed under Hitler's Third Reich rule and never opened again with the same productions! Moritz Zdekauer is one of those many factories that stopped productions in 1945 and later opened after WWII as a nationalized factory producing different quality items and not as many handpainted pieces. The plate is about 6 inches in diameter has been painted with a bold violet flower theme - bright and captivating!! The artist signed the back ROPER and I have a set of five of these up for auction. Each Roper plate features a different flower theme, but they are all the same size and same MZ mark - it would be alovely holiday gift for your favorite collector!!
