You are bidding on an amazing 1794 liquor tag or lable made by George Smith II and Thomas Hayter of London. The tag is 213 years old!! It is beautifully engraved SHERRY. T is no monogram but does have the crest or symbol of a tree in the cartouche. On the bottom edge t are the London hallmarks GS TH, "t", a lion and the duty stamp. The label is 1 5/8" in diameter and 1 3/8" high. With the chain it is 4 1/4" high The label weighs 13 grams. This is a most incredible museum quality lable with the matching Port and Madeira for sale as well.
