From the Thirties until it closed it's doors in the Fifties, Sherman Billingsley's Stork Club was the place "to see and be seen." Started out as a speakeasy and evolved into one of the most famous restaurants in New York. Remember the Betty Davis movie "All About Eve?" One of the pivotal scenes takes place in the restaurant bar. I am liquidating a Stork Club restaurant collection in the coming weeks and thought I'd start the auctions with one of the harder to find pieces. This is the Stork Club water pitcher. Manufactured by, I believe by a Japanese company; Shenango. Pretty sure that's how it reads on the base. The pitcher is a little over 8" tall and in pristine condition. Stork Club logo on both sides is crisp and clear. No chips or cracks. I accept paypal, money orders, and checks. I don't charge handling fees, only your postage/shipping costs.
