RARE SULEIMAN FROM INDIA~2 DRILLED BEADS/PENDANTS~ At last the universe has smiled, and allowed me to offer the rare material known as suleiman from India. I have been searching for some to offer since I became familiar with it last year. I have literally been searching the world over to to find it! This material should not be confused with Mexican zebra jasper or striped agates, onyx and jaspers from other localities. This material is known to be mostly made up of silicon dioxide (quartz) with flowing bands, stripes and pools of clear crystalline to solid white that contrast sharply with jet black flows and background. Delicate shades of brown and cinnabar are sometimes also found in this material. When polished, the surface luster is very bright and shiny as opposed to a duller or more waxy surface luster found on some of the other striped jaspers and agates that this material can be confused with. It is easy to recognize by both appearance and vibration after you get to know it. During my ongoing research of this stone, a contact in India told me that he was first introduced to this stone when the Dalai Lama visited their community over 15 years ago.
