Great find in Sisters (Central), Oregon! WOW! Original trinket box in the shape of a heart w/roses on the sides and back. From the public opening of the historic Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood, Oregon. Comes w/a photo that was also w/the box (NOT A POST CARD). Written in pencil on the back, July 4, 1939 (public opening day of the lodge that took several years to build). The photo shows Mt Hood in the background, and says Timberine Lodge-Mt Hood, Oregon on the bottom left. Jewelry or trinket box is silver colored. Either silver plate or potmetal, untested. Marked Made in Japan on the back and has a triangular shaped makers mark that appears to read Nov.Co. but I can't be sure as it's difficult to read. Box is approx 0.8 inches tall, and about 2.8 inches at the largest area. Marked Timeberline Lodge Mt.Hood Oregon also. Very rare to find any older historic articles from Timberline Lodge, and especially from what appears to be from the public opening. Box is 82 grams, and still has the original pink lining. Some bumps, some dents, but hinge is good and opens and closes. Original as found condition, unpolished. I am going to sell the two together as found, so the buyer gets 2 historic pieces for one bid!
