This auction is for a very unusual large Gurley Candle. It is an all wax village scene with a small red house surrounded by several trees and a dark midnight sky behind it. And if you look carefully in the sky above the house you with see the raised image of Santa and his reindeer. This really is a remarkable piece because behind this village scene is a small white candle that can light up this entire scene. The candle in the back has only been lit once. I did not light it again to see how it lights up. But I did put a small light bulb behind it to see. If you darken a room and put a light behind the scene it creates almost a moonlit night, and Santa and the reindeer seem to come alive. Everything shows up in great detail. The piece is absolutely amazing. And to top if off, the original box comes with it. The entire scene is wax and is in very good condition for the age. Some of the edges of the wax are dirty from being stored away, but overall the colors are bright and the piece is very good. The cardboard box is fair to good. T is some wear and a few small tears on the edges. I believe this piece dates from around 1950. The measurements of the overall piece are 7" wide, 6 3/4" tall, and 3 1/2" deep.
