Venini Sarpaneva LAINE Vase MINT A truly 4 color incalmo LAINE (sometimes called egg vase) vase designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Venini. Sarpaneva is recognized as a major designer. The retrospective of his work at the Museum of Art and Design, Helsinki was an outstanding success. 1st printing Catalogues sold out. Between 1990 and 1994 Sarpaneva designed a series of Incalmo for Venini consisting of vases, bottles and bowls. Incalmo is a difficult and expensive technique. T are no reissues and original production of this series has been closed for many years. Original Venini packaging included. I preface the following statement by saying those that know me know I've had a lot of Venini Sarpaneva, accumulated a large Venini Sarpaneva personal collection and a lot of rare Venini Sarpaneva. This is the finest 4 color Sarpaneva Incalmo egg vase (Laine) I've ever seen. Most of the Laine's I've owned, sold to dealers, collectors end up being 3 color because the middle 2 colors bleed so much its not possible to see the 4 colors. This LAINE shows 4 distinctive separated colors!! Sorry about the photo's but this vase, for me, is virtually impossible to properly photograph.
