Offering for sale: One Caddoan Jar that is about 5 inches wide at the lip and 3 and 3/4 tall..with a mouth opening of about 3 and 1/2 inches. THIS IS A VERY RARE AND HARD TO GET ONE OF A KIND ANCIENT ARTIFACT FROM THE CADDO CULTURE. THE NAME OF THIS STYLE IS "KILLOUGH PINCH" AND WAS FOUND MOSTLY IN FAR EAST TEXAS NEAR THE RED RIVER.. THE AGE IS SAID TO BE BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 1400 AND 1650. I consulted with noted author and Caddo Trading Co. Museum owner Sam Johnson to be sure of the type and the age..I also did research in information published by the Univ. of Texas. and confirmed the type and age and rarity of this type. It is wild to say the very least..The Caddo took the wet clay and piched it between the two fingers and designed the highly textured surface..T is no definite pattern that I can determine..Some parts of it look like rows of corn kernels on the cob..Other parts seem to circle and adorn a certain area..T is a flaired lip and it is adorned with enlongated nodes that are paired in four quarterly spaced locations on the lip..The bottom is well worn and sits well..T is no damage other that some lip repair around the extended nodes that were broke off and glued back on in a couple of places..Below the rim , I see no damage or repair..T is one small crack in the lip that is of no real concern..it stops after about an inch read more
