Very rare naval andmerchant shipping historical reference data journal “The Belgian Shiplover” Vol.XVII No.7/8 (July/August 1966). Issue No.112. The Belgian Nautical Research Association publication devoted to authoritative technical, operational, and career detail on the world’s naval and merchant ships. Printed only for the use of society members, never numbering more than a few hundred persons. All now very rare. Original copy, not a reprint or photocopy reproduction. Format 13 x 8.5 inches, maintained throughout the life of the journal. The journal was published during 1949 to 1975, founded by the late Paul E. R. Scarceriaux. His wife and a few devoted associates (including the late Christian de Saint Hubert, tragically killed a few years later) strove to sustain the society and the journal after M. Scarceriaux’s death (17 March 1975), ultimately without success. International membership included many of the most well-known naval and merchant shipping enthusiasts of the day, people such as Erich Groener, Henri Le Masson, Rene Greger, Eric Lacroix, Arrigo Barilli, and others. This effort at collaboration through volunteer scholarship was meant to provide fundamental reference data for permanent reference. Much of this data represents the result of unique independent research, and some even today cannot be found elsewhere in print. read more
