Presented for your consideration is a handsome crystal beer stein. Cut into the mouth blown sides is a geometric pattern framed by wispy floral sprays. The base has been blown in mold to show a rounded star or daisy pattern and the handle is pulled. The decorative lid is made out of 100% pewter, but is unmarked. The thumb rest shows a baroque shield. The pewter lid shows a ring of scratches on the inside where it rests on the glass. This heavy full lead (24% PbO) crystal beer mug is a vintage piece manufactured by RASTAL GmbH & Co. KG , Höhr-Grenzhausen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is in excellent. There are no nicks, dings, scratches, chips nor repairs. It is marked with the etched RASTAL mark. Height to rim: 6 3/4 inches Height to finial: 9 3/8 inches Diameter rim: 3 inches Diameter base: 3 3/4 inches Weight: 2 pounds, 2.1 ounces I have a second one with a slightly darker pewter lid listed with the number 390291129921.
