Early 1900s, rare RPPC Real Photo Postcard of the Decoration Day Para de in Chil i, Clark County Wisconsin with an a dvertising sign for S elz Shoes on the side of the A. Hogenson Ge neral Stor e. The population of Chili at this time was only around 200 people and it looks like most of them were at the para de that day . Ther e are horses, wago ns, the band, and the few downtown businesses. The buildi ng to the right of the General Store is the H. Degener Hardware Store. On the f ront of the card in faint w hite letters i s, PARA DE DECORATION DAY CHILI, WIS. (Hard to see, but is there and is shown in the 2nd photograph). This old postcard is in good shape with no tears , lights sign s of age and wear, and one small crease in the bottom corner. It has a divided back and was never used. This fits into multiple categories of postcard collecting, Holiday, Real Pho to, Town View, Para de, and adver tising , all in one . A nice piece of history from the small town of C hili .
