This is a very nice shaped, large specimen of Canyon Diablo meteorite that weighs in at 658 grams, or about 1 and 1/2 pounds. This fantastic piece has a nice shape to it with several nice curves and points. It is a very solid and stable piece and is already cleaned for you. The size in centimeters for this specimen at it's widest points is 11 x 6.5 x 4. This piece would make a stunning addition to anyone's collection! This one is a rarity, don't let it pass you by! This specimen is a 100% guaranteed iron meteorite from the Barringer Meteor Crater near Winslow, Arizona, United States. The specific composition of the Canyon Diablo Meteorite, is as follows: .92% iron, .07% nickel and .005% cobalt with trace amounts of Gallium, Germanium, Iridium and Platinum. The world famous Barringer Meteor Crater was so named for Daniel Moreau Barringer who first proved the theory that the crater was indeed caused by a meteor impact.
