Rear disc brake adapter 4 Gary Fisher Trek Klein 160mm This auction is for a new rear disc brake frame adapter and mounting hardware w/ blue Loctite pre-applied. It will fit many Klein, Trek, and Gary Fisher frames and many comfort or stepthru (Women's) style of bikes. Gary Fisher Sugars, 29*er's etc and Trek Fuel are some of the more popular bikes for this upgrade. This adapter allows your frame to run disc brakes by converting it directly to the 74mm International Standard which is what most brake calipers have been made to for at least 5 years now ( fits160mm rotor size only ). My adapters are CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet and do not need the caliper adapter like the OEM frame adapter needs. This adapter saves money and shaves weight (nearly 30 grams), as well as looks nicer. You can see some examples of brakes that can be run with this adapter, but there are more yet that I do not own, if you have any questions I would be happy to assist you. Made in the USA and CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet these adapters will align your brakes better than the factory ("OEM") adapters. They are Black anodized by another American manufacturing company in my area. We also use Made In USA screws and aluminum. Your left rear dropout must look like these dropouts in order for this adapter to work on your frame. These bikes makers do not always use the same dropouts even during the same model and year, so I cannot say for sure that a particular bike will have the proper dropout. If it has the same features ( half round bump/ 2 bigger holes with a smaller threaded hole between and a little above ) it is going to be a match. I can email a PDF of the geometry to print out and compare directly to your frame. Regarding other Ebay sellers that take issue with my superior adapters: I have not had any fitting issues (check my feedback, nothing but praise). >This billet is 6061-T6, which is a better/stronger grade of aluminum than typically used in forging and castings, (especially in CHINA, where OEM parts are made), the material is very important and so is the craftsmanship. 6061-T6 billet is the same material used in aircraft construction (wings and fuselages), high performance racing parts (crankshafts, connecting rods, rockers, etc) and nearly anywhere that quality and precision are required. >Threads in the part decrease weight and provide a stronger mount, especially when OEM parts only have app. 2-3 threads of engagement in the thin steel nut and it is how the rest of your bike is assembled, including your rotor bolts . > Keep your upgrade money in the USA and get a better part at the same time. BTW the screws cost more than mere pennies from your LBS, (up to a couple of bucks) and if your there for screws, just get the part from them for less than the inflated price other Ebay sellers charge. > ( Trek Disc-O adapter: Trek part #210648 and the Gary Fisher part #87855 Universal Disc Brake Adapter Kit, they are the same part and should be no problem to get them from any of the 3 bike dealers or many others for that matter). I tell you this because these other guys are making a killing on these adapters and they will not be as accurate as the ones that I am making and my parts support the American economy more.
