My fascination for the albino gorilla started when I read the story of Snowflake. In 1967 local villagers in Africa’s Guinea captured a remarkable baby gorilla. The young male had a coat of pure white. This is History’s only known albino gorilla. Snowflake died Nov.24, 2003 of cancer, but his legacy remains. In his time at the zoo he fathered 21 gorillas, however none were albino.
