Authentic Salvaged Wood Framed Chalk/Magnetic Board Recycled Relics...recycling at it's best! We have taken salvaged molding from a old house in Upstate NY, and made it into a Magnetic/Chalkboard.This is NOT slate. We have rolled chalk/magnetic paint ontoa sheet of metal, so it can be used for chalk or magnetics.This wood framed Chalkboard is perfect in the kitchen Or foyer.You can use the magnetic chalkboard to writeshopping lists, Sports schedules & menus. Or you can use magnets to display family photos.The Salvaged wood frame measures 14" x 23"The opening is 11" x 19"Width of the molding is 2"It is painted in a Old White paint. We have added a wire hanger. The joints might not be 'tight' due to the age of the wood, but we try and get them as close as possible. We salvage old fluted molding, clapboard,beadboard & tin ceiling from old Victorians ,farm houses(1890's-early 1900's) & buildings in upstate NY. All the houses were beyond repair. T might be original pieces of wood missing from the back of the frame w it was originally removed. It doesn't show from the front of the frame. Since this wood is 100+ years old, and has withstood 100 yrs of original weathering and aging.... t is a strong possibility that the wood might have some DIRT on it! :) We do a light cleaning of the wood, but leave it as found.
