This is a very thin and short cotton pile velvet suitable for the writing slope surface or the interior of jewellery, sewing, toilet boxes and tea caddies. Also useful for lining box bases. This piece measures 13" x 18". Modern dyed fabric rarely matches the original Victorian and Georgian velvet colours exactly. This one is a dark ruby red.
