This beautiful teapot was used in the Officer's Mess in the US Navy. The USN and Navy anchor are visible, engraved in the center of the lower decoration of photo one. My father used teapots just like this during his career. This had been in my family since at least 1958. The bottom of the pot has a heart, Reed & Barton, Silver Soldered. 2900, and the number 21. The lid has the same number 21 inside. Hinge is smooth. There are two bands of wood on the handle to keep from burning the user. I was told these are made of ebony. They are a dark wood which is likely ebony. Measures 9 1/2" wide and 5 1/2' tall. Feel free to ask questions.
