Regency fold-top tea or card table in rosewood I am not an expert but I understand this to be in rosewood, and that the design is Regency. Whatever wood it is, it remains very attractive even where it has faded, and on the inside (the opened table surface), it has a richness and depth astounding considering that it is around 200 years old. It was so rarely ever opened or used! The pedestal leg is noticeable for its carved tulip shape, and is very solid. The folding mechanism works well, with no slackness or give. Dimensions are 72cm high x 92cm long x 45cm wide (closed) or 92cm wide (open). Defects (last two photos) are that the outer surfaces have faded somewhat due to its age. There are splashes here and there of surface water marks. The base has a small split which is where the wood has dried I think. It goes about one-third of the way through the base along most of its length. I was told it is nothing to be concerned about. This has been in my family for maybe 100 years. My father inherited it from a great aunt in 1970, and she was then in her nineties. It has sat quietly folded with a few ornaments on it for most of its life. I never remember it being used. It got the splashes quite recently when my parents kept it for a while in their kitchen. I am now selling everything (care home fees...). It's a lovely object but it read more
