Welcome To Cyber Space Pens Regulus Series Pen Done in Carbon Fiber With Black & Gold Titanium Nitride Hardware This is a handmade pen by Katie Manrique from the Regulas Series. The Regulas Series are great looking twist action pen. The two-toned plating with a decorative band, end cap, and jewel on the pocket clip gives this series an elegant look. The Black & Gold Titanium Nitride provides a durable and high luster finish. She turned this pen from an Acrilic blank cast around a piece Carbon Fiber. Because no two blanks are the same, we roll the pen and take photos so that you can see what the pen looks like all the way around. This pen offers decorated bands for a touch of class. The pen is 5-1/4" long and the barrel diameter is .525 and tapers down to the point. This is a twist action pen that twists at the top. Every handmade pen comes with a certificate of authenticity and instructions for changing the ink cartridge. This pen has a Fisher Space Pens Pressurized Black Ink, Medium Point Ink Cartridge installed it. Like used on all Space Shuttle Missions both American & Russian. We specialize in Fisher Space Pens and believe in the technology of the pressurized refill. Fisher pens are all metal or solid colored plastic and some pen buyers are looking for something with a little more pizazz. We feel these handmade pens offer some of the bolder and more colorful looks as well as a more elegant look many buyers are looking for yet they can still have the pressurized refill. The box we chose for this pen is a black stitched leatherette box that is satin lined with holding step and hinged as shown in the photos. The box can be laser engraved however you want it, a Name, Monogram, company logo, or personal message. Laser engraving is included on the box. We have engraved one with our name for demonstration, but you can have what you want engraved there. This combination has a lot to offer. To change the ink it screws apart at the point and then the ink cartridge pulls out. The Regulas Series uses the Parker style ink refill so we used a Fisher Space Pen SPR Series Pressurized Black Ink/ Medium Point ink Cartridge. It will take Parker inks and Gels, or the Fisher SPR series refills. This refill was developed for NASA and has been used on EVERY Space Shuttle mission both American and Russian. They are hermetically sealed with a specially formulated thixotropic ink and pressurized to about 35 PSI. They are the only refills that will write at any angle because they do not rely on gravity, and have a shelf life of 100 years. The bottom paragraph tells more about the Fisher story. #05 Things you should know about hand made pens ►Making the Pens: So that you may better understand the process involved in making a pen by hand the following information will explain the process. The blanks come in blocks approximately 3/4" X 3/4" X 5" some smaller and some larger, and must put in a lathe and have a hole drilled to the proper size, trimmed to length, then a brass tube gets pressed into the blank to house the transmission. Then back into the lathe to have the outside turned to accept all the hardware, then sealed and polished to achieve a quality finish. All of these procedures require very precise tolerances to be made. A handmade pen from a craftsman's lathe is a real thing of beauty. You would not believe the weight and feel of these pens in contrast to production run pens. The beauty of these pens and the feel of them cannot be fully appreciated in pictures. When we sell these in a person-to-person environment they outsell other pens in their price group.
