Advertising "Remember the Maine" Candy Boat "Kranz Chicago" Here is a very unusual "Remember the Maine" Candy Boat, as it has advertising on one side saying "Kranz Chicago" & on the other side "Remember the Maine". In 1870 John Kranz started a factory making candy @ 285 S. Halstead Ave, Chicago. In 1875 purchased business @ 256 Milwaukee Ave. Later he moved to 78 and 80 State Street, Chicago where he opened up a very high end candy company. This candy company remained in business until 1947. He was famous because he used lots of innovative techniques to lure in wealthier clients. ( such as Mechanical Swans & advertising such as this item). He had a file of more than 2000 standing orders from people all over the world buying his high end candy when he closed in 1947.Returns only if item is not as described
