The Victorians loved anything elaborate and Renaissance Revival furniture is indeed just that! This was just shipped from France and is the perfect scale for a large all bisque doll or a small bisque head doll. My Maggie is 9" tall without her hat and is not included in the auction. She is just posing for scale reference. The entire suite is what the French call "art populaire" ie. folk art. The set is entirely hand made and hand carved in a favorite Victorian motif, the clover leaf. The set is a bit rustic, which just adds to its charm. Renaissance Revival tried to emulate the hand carved furniture of the original 15th Century Renaissance furniture. The bench measures 6 1/2 inches long and stands 5 1/2" tall. The chairs are 2 3/4" wide and stand 4 3/4" tall. AUBONMARCHE1800 is brand new to eBay, but I (jannypooh) have nearly 1800 feedbacks with a 100% rating, so ! BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR OTHER AUCTIONS!
