CHARLES RENNIE MACKINTOSH KIMONO DESK by Dolls House Emporium This is a beautifully made writing cabinet originally made for the Mackintosh House by Dolls House Emporium. The collection is now discontinued and it is increasingly difficult to source any item. The desk is a replica of the original desk made by Rennie Mackintosh for the drawing room. There are two pink rose petal designs on the legs of the desk. The doors open to reveal mother of pearl style inlay and decorated central panel. The writing table pulls out and is covered in red fabric . There are lots of small dividers to store letters and documents and the photo shows one or two as an example. When the doors are open, the desk assumes the kimono shape and Mackintosh made several items of furniture for himself using this shape. You can see a similar desk when I used it in my renovated Mackintosh house at the following site where there is short video showing the completed house. http://youtu.be/reKjxLeYeLY Also the Victoria and Albert museum have a DHE Mackintosh house in their collection. This is a rare piece which does not come up for sale very often so is an essential for all Mackintosh dolls house lovers. Item listed as used but has only been displayed in one of my dolls houses for a short time so is in excellent condition. Items will be posted second class signed read more
