for Larger Image Denix Colt Cavalry Model Revolver Replica The Colt Single Action Army Revolver is known by many names including the Plough Handle and the Equalizer, but it is most commonly known as the Peacemaker. Introduced in 1873 and chambered for the also new .45 Colt cartridge, the Single Action Army was designed as a replacement for the cap and ball style Colt Model 1860 Army revolver. The Peacemaker was carried by outlaws and lawmen alike including Bat Masterson, Doc Holliday, and Jesse James. Seen in countless westerns, it is probably the most recognized revolver ever made. The model adopted by the U.S. Army is called the Cavalry model and features a 7-1/2 inch barrel. A version of the cavalry model was used by Dodge City Marshal Matt Dillon in the TV series Gunsmoke . Now you can have a full-sized, non-firing replica of the famous Colt Cavalry Model. This replica, made by Denix of Spain, features metal construction, a steel grey finish, a 7-1/2 inch barrel and wood grips. The action functions like the original, including a rotating cylinder, a cocking hammer, a working trigger, and a functional ejector rod. Also like the original, the loading gate opens and the hammer features both a half cock and full cock position as shown.
