This set of candle sticks is quite lovely. The pair are 8" tall each, about 4 1/2" wide at the base (widest) and both exquisite. The pieces are marked, English/European style L & LW & Co. LAW with a crown and king hallmarks. I realized on the internet, the reigning monarch's portrait on was used to pay the tax, and this practice was done away with the late 1890's? These could easily be that old. The were weighted when made, however one has had the base removed and its silver weight alone is just at 10 ounces each which means 20 ounces total of just silver. The images shown have all the detail. I am running these for a customer and do not know much about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated...and please email questions. The tops of the candle sticks come off (both) and both are in fantastic shape, except for the base weigh which has been taken out. The general condition of the sticks in wonderful.
