THIS AGED BUILDING PROBABLY HAD A REAL HEY-DAY AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY! The photo that I used to build this diorama was from the National Archives. It is a true Salt box dwelling and dates itself to the 19th century and perhaps earlier. The base measures 8 3/4" wide X 6 3/8" deep and its height is 5 3/8". The exterior of the model is clapboard siding heavily wweathered with Gray & Tan stains. The windows were all painted white then dry brushed with a light gray. Each window has a decorative detail individually cut and set by hand. All windows are 12x12 double hung other than the 2 end windows which were probably the dining area was located. These windows are 4x4 double hung. The doors are 4 panel wood painted brown and aged with the dry brush technique. I added the dapper fellow reading from the local newspaper to his wife who is resting under her umbrella. The roof is Sienna toned shake shingle and the stacks are random stone. The landscaping has been altered from the previous buildings similar to this with more sand glued in place. I believe the front of the original building had a large area for horse and buggies. This has been a very popular design and I am sure the buyer will enjoy this model as much as I enjoyed building it. Thank you for your continued interest in my structures and good luck on your bidding,
