An excellent & restored c. late 1920’s Morrison’s Red Hard Rubber lever-fill fountain pen with a gold-filled trim including no less than 5 cap bands & a 14k gold nib. The pen measures 10.8cm capped with a cap diameter of 1.2cm approx.The lever, barrel & nib markings are as shown in the photos.Although not far short of being 100 years old, the pen is in excellent condition. The gold-filled trim, including the lever, has not suffered any plating loss & there are no obvious nicks or surface scratches other than faint scuff-marks on the barrel from posting the cap. I’ve shown the end of the cap in one of the photos as there’s a manufacturer’s ‘indent’ in the centre; I don’t know if this was simply a design feature or for a ring-top which is missing or snapped off.The pen has been stripped, lightly cleaned & a new sac fitted. The pen has a semi-flex nib that I’d say is medium-broad. It’s a little scratchy but this may simply be due to a previous owner being right-handed whilst I’m left handed & easily corrected by smoothing. Great colour, great condition & a comparatively rare pen will make this a valued addition to any collection.
