Antique Ingraham Pressed Oak Kitchen Clock This clock is entirely composed of antique Ingraham Kitchen Clock parts, but it is, in essence, a âe~marriageâe(tm) in that the case, the works and gong were purchased separately. All, however, are of the same period of manufacture - and are antique. The case is an excellent example of the late Victorian craze for mass-manufactured decoration. The finish is all original âe" I have cleaned restored the original varnish in a process which does not remove the original âe" thus retaining its antique value. The oak case also retains sufficient parts of its label to identify the maker as: E.I. INGRAHAM CO. OF BRISTOL, CONN. The side panels are reeded âe" an interesting decorative feature unusual in these kitchen clocks. The case is undamaged but has had two holes drilled in the sides which are old but not original. Perhaps these were intended to augment the volume of the gong? In any case, they in not way mar the overall appearance or functionality of this lovely clock. One of the more striking features of this clock is the gold etched design stenciled on the doorâe(tm)s glass.
