A superb original 1960s american Art Metal swivel office desk chair. The chair has a black textured plastic/vinyl seat frame with mustard coloured fabric upholstered seat cushion and back. There is a central steel thread with ring adjustment to allow the chair to be raised or lowered and also a lever to adjust the tension in lean. There are 4 brushed steel legs with original fitted castors. The chair has been used and has suffered some scuffs and scratches with some stains to the seat fabric. Marks and scuffs to the legs with some rusting underneath to the mechanism. There has been a weld repair to the top of the shaft which is actually to secure the seat to the shaft. The chair swivels smoothly and is extremely comfortable and supportive. A stylish looking chair perfect for a modernist home or office interior. RD 1967 is stamped to the mechanism with further numbers on other parts also, i presume this may be a date rather than registered design number? Seat height currently set at 18 inches and arms at 25 inches, seat width is 19.5 inches wide. Postage anywhere in the UK is £15 but buyer is welcome to collect.
