Retro signed Star- Art 12K gold filled pin brooch & earrings set with Amethyst Stunning and rare little Deco style gold filled brooch and earrings set by Star-Art, with purple Amethyst & champagne coloured rhinestones. This dates to the Retro period of the late 30's, early 40's, when gold filled jewellery was very popular. (Gold filled means that at least 1/20th of the weight is pure gold - as hard wearing as gold itself). Brooch is 1.25" in diameter with roll bar pin in good working order. It also has a fitting so it can be used as a pendant. Earrings are 1" long and are the old fashioned screw on type. Brooch is marked STAR-ART, 1/20 12K GF on the back, and the earrings have the little star with ART written in the middle, also marked 1/20 12K GF. Brooch and earrings in very good condition throughout. All stones intact. Will arrive in a box & gift bag. NB: Gold-filled or rolled gold items, even with daily wear, can last up to 30 years. Gold-filled items are 50 to 100,000 times thicker than regular gold plating, and 17 to 25,000 times thicker than heavy gold electroplate. Payment by Paypal preferred.
