This is an older Revereware copper teakettle that has a wooden insert on the handle and a wooden knob on the lid. These were painted red at one time and now show a loss of paint. The kettle is in excellent condition and could be polished to a high shine. I have left the moderate patina. The bottom impression says Revere Copper & Brass Incorporated, Rome, NY, 1801 Revere Ware.
