THIS IS FROM THOUSANDS OF TIMES THE MUSKET WAS FIRED IN WHICH THE FLINT WORE THE STEEL DOWN.THERE IS A HALLMARK "IM" INSIDE THE LOCK PLATE.THE PIECE IS IN EXCAVATED CONDITION. AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS DAMAGE TO SOME AREAS FROM AGE BUT OVERALL IT IS A FANTASTIC ARTIFACT OF THE REVOLUTION!I DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT WAS FOUND.
