Rhodochrosite Tumblestone (Peru) - 'A' Grade Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate with a hardness of 3.5 to 4. Its name comes from the Greek, 'rhodom' meaning 'rose', plus 'chrosis' referring to its colour. Peruvian Rhodocrosite is usually a deeper pinky red than the Argentinian variety, with less or no banding. This super piece is a lovely colour and measures approx 2.9 cms. Pink is the colour-expression of love and nearly all the pink stones relate to this theme, hence Rhodochrosite is said to attract love. Soothes the heart and comforts the soul.
