Dovima was the model for some of Avedon's major photographs, include the celebrated one of her posing with an elephant. The four gelatin silver prints are mounted in a large frame There are red markings on some of the images. These were probably framed like this by someone involved in the project, who put a label on the frame with Avedon's name and the date.
