Richwood Cindy Lou Nurse Walker Doll 1954 Mary Hoyer . Today's listing is for: what I believe is a pretty vintage 1954-55 Richwood Cindy Lou Walker Doll that is dressed in a nurse outfit. I purchased her thinking that she might be an unmarked Mary Hoyer walker, but after researching her believe she is Cindy Lou and that made these dolls using Mary Hoyer's walking doll body. Please correct me if I am mistaken as I want to advertise her correctly. She is about 14" tall and I believe everything she is wearing is original to her. Her dress is unmarked and is made of cream colored taffeta. It was so soiled in the front (she looked like she had been laying in an uncovered box for 50 years) that I rinsed and air dryed it. T are pink stains w her knees touched the front of the dress and t is a tiny dark spot near the hem on the front that may remove otherwise it is hole and stain free. The dress has back snaps and the fabric is quite strong. The nurse hat is still discolored though as it seemed to be more fragile and I was afraid I would ruin it-the brown satin ribbon is very weak and disintegrating on one side. Her underwear and shoes appear to be original. (I did get two of these dolls and they are identical except for the hair color-so I'm pretty sure everything is original to her). I have no idea of the value of this doll. I did see w her nurse outfit had been up once, and t is another doll in a different outfit listed for $300 which hasn't sold. I will put her up with no reserve as I know that doll collectors will pay a fair price if they want her! The doll has obviously never been played with and other than a little more surface cleaning I doubt you will find one in nicer condition. The walking mechanism works like the day she was new. I put a new latex rubber in her head as it was wobbly and that's perfect now too. Her long golden brown braids are in what appears to be the original set with the pins still in. She has beautiful blue eyes with real lashes and high color cheeks and lips. Her eyelids appear to have dark eye shadow also. One eyebrow is higher than the other which may just be her look!
