W.RIDGWAY PURPLE TRANSFERWARE PLATE, ASIATIC PLANTS, 1830 You are bidding on this purple transferware plate in the Asiatic Plants pattern by WR Ridgway of Shelton, Staffordshire, England circa 1830-34. Asiatic Plants is a serial pattern with a different arrangement of different plants on every size. This size plate shows one type of exotic flower on the main stem. The plate has toning on the edges but no chips or hairlines. Purple is the hardest color to translate in photos, the plate is quite purple in real life and does not have a reddish hue at all as it might seem in the pictures. Dimensions: 8 1/4" diameter
