This beautiful lamp is 7 1/2 in. to the collar. The diameter of the base is 5 1/4 in. The base has the Almond pattern. On the collar is stamped PATENTED SEP. 19, 1882 AND DEC. 4, 1882. This is the Riverside clinch-on collar that was nade so that a groove on the collar rested on a groove in the font so that the collar could be clinched on without cement. This wasn't always effective and the grooves on this lamp are about 2 in. apart. The burner is a No. 2 Queen Anne. On the thumbwheel is written SCOVILL MFG. CO U.S.A. The glass is clear and without chips are cracks. On p. 164 in the Riverside Glass Works book this lamp is designated a sewing lamp. It's beautiful and in excellent condition!
