This is 1 of 4 unframed water pencil drawings I am listing today. All 4 are signed Robert Edmond Jones. All date to the 1940s or maybe early 1950s. Mr. Jones died in 1954, so we know they are from before that. Mr. Jones did stage and costume design for major NY shows and others. There are no marks that suggest the name of the show that these are for, but I suspect that all 4 are part of the same show. These are simple sketch drawings done on cardboard. Each work measures 15 by 12 inches. All are unframed, and all have damage, the worst of which is moisture damage along the bottom corners. These are being sold to settle an estate so they do not have a home to return to. Greater works by this same artist have been sold for thousands of dollars at major auction houses like Sotheby's and Christy's. Please learn more about his work so that you might bid wisely. These will be offered "as is" with a modest starting bid of $100 each and sold with no further reserve. Careful packing and insured shipping will be $20 to any address in the lower 48 states. Since it will not change the size of the package required, if any single buyer purchases 1, 2, 3, or all 4, shipping will still read more
