Canadiandesigner Robert Larin contribution to the modernist jewelry movement of the70's is enormous, is work is sought after by collectors worldwide. The abstract panel bracelet's Length is 17.7 cm or 6 7/8 inches long. It is 1’ 7/16 wide or 3.65 cm. The bracelet is signed in hand script on the reverse of the male clasp panel and is also initialed on the female clasp panel with R.LA. The clasp works well and all the links are solid and in great condition. The piece was very lightly cleaned and would polish up nice if you so desired. For those who prefer it will lots of patina we left it there. Either way, it is very wearable and ready to go. A nice eye catcher. Very enjoyable piece. "Based in Montreal, QC, Larin began designing jewelry in his mid-20s, working between 1968 and 1977 - a nine year period - which yielded a sophisticated body of work echoing the rebellious aesthetics of brutalism." Larin used the “lost wax process” employing pewter as opposed to any other more refined or precious metals. A lot of precise handwork was then executed to get each piece filed, plated and polished, giving it that "personal touch." Oxidization can oftentimes be seen in his works offering a striking contrast between raised surfaces and inner space. Please let me know if you have any questions.
