This is the most unusual doll I've ever seen. This is from an estate of a WWII veteran. It is thought that this doll belonged to his wife's mother. Many things in this estate are from Germany, and I wonder if this might also be from there. I'm not a doll expert, so I really don't know a thing abut this doll. The doll is 23" long. The arms and legs move smoothly. The heads turn easily. The face is painted and very dirty. I didn't wash it. Photo's 7 and 8 show fractures on the dolls head. I don't know what the head is made out of. Both hands have a hole in the flannel. You can see that straw is the filler. There are no other holes in the body of the doll. The red hat and collar are felt. The hat is trimmed in the same furry material as the body. The body reminds me of the "fur" that would have been used for a stuffed bear. It's worn and thin in many places. It was probably soft when new. There are no marks on the doll. Please email with questions. Doll is being sold As Is. No returns. Payment is due within 3 days of end of auction. Thanks for looking.
