This is an auction for Rochdale GT first registered in April 1960. It is a Ford based special with a fibre glass body. I purchased the car in March of this year but due to a recent change in my personal circumstances I now wish to sell the car. It has had much work done which I will detail below, but still requires some finishing, mainly in the painting of the body shell. I bought the car as a 'box of bits' and have spent lots of time and money in sourcing the missing bits. To the best of my knowledge it is all there now to complete the car. I will detail the specification of the car as built, the work done before March 2013 and what I have done since then. I have the current V5C in my name as well as the original buff logbook. I believe that the Registration Number 2232MK is the original and is transferable. There is also an extensive history file including all the original purchase receipts and invoices from the original build as well as some more recent receipts for work done. Original build: The car was bulit on a new Ford chassis with the recommended strengthening panels. It sits on 15" Ballamy wheels with 5 unused Radial tyres. High ratio Crown wheel and pinion to compensate for the reduced wheel size. LMB Light Supersrung Independant Front Suspension. Buckler close ratio gearbox. Aquaplane Head and manifolds with twin SU carbs and Aquaplane timing cover with drive for rev counter. Original Rochdale header tank. Fly off MGA handbrake. Remote gearchange. Full set if instruments including Smiths recalibrated speedo (Rev counter, ammeter, oil pressure, temp etc). Work done before March 2013: Chassis stripped and refurbished and painted. Brakes reconditioned. New recored radiator and electric fan. Engine rebuild with new white metal bearings, pistons, valves, springs etc. Some repair to fibre glass body. New seats front and back along with door panels and footwell sides and pedal boards all in matching black material. Work done since March 2013: Engine reassembled with skimmed head and new fittings and linkages for the SU carbs (including heatshield). I have had the engine running and also done a compression test which showed readings of between 155 and 165 psi on all four cylinders. Engine and gearbox fitted to chassis with new mounts. New remote oil filter with braided pipes and spin on filter. New hoses and electric fan thermostat switch, fan belt, plugs etc. Petrol pipe filler and cap and stainless steel braided pipe from tank to petrol pump in engine bay. Replaced steering box as the other one was cracked. I have also ordered a polished steering wheel boss from Mota Lita to fit the E93A column which will allow a woodrimmed wheel to be fitted as the original is not the best. I have sourced the correct window mechanisms for the two doors along with stainless steel window frames and the glass. Also included is all the glass (front screen, door windows, rear side glass and two rear screens, the original and one brand new replacement along with new rubbers and chrome trim inserts) Internal Wimot Breedon door locks. Wiper motor mechanism, oil rad, heater. I have a new replacement instrument panel in brushed steel effect finish which include glove box covers. New front lights (VW sloping style) new front and rear side lights, indicators and number plate light. Three pairs of new hinges for the doors and bonnet. New external locking door handles. I also have a new modular wiring loom complete with fuse boxes, relays etc. There are obviously some other things that I have not mentioned. You are welcome to come and view and/or to ask questions.
