This is an original Roderick Slater collage titled, "Nearing 7."With this collage, Slater uses acrylic paint, paper, ink, foil, cloth, marble dust and museum board.The collage/painting measures 20" x approx. 16" & with the frame, it measures 21" x 17"This collage features green grass/shrubs with hills in the background with a beautiful blue sky with white clouds. In the center there is a cut-out box that displays various items/pictures, such as a chess piece, a clock, numbers and letters and other pieces. The boarder around the collage is of paper with typed words with foil around the corners.The frame is wooden & seems to be in good shape.On the back of the frame is a write-up about Slater & this particular piece, "Nearing 7."Roderick Slater is an American artist born in Goodrich, Michigan in 1937. Slater studied art at the National Academy of Design School of Art in New York City . His works include paintings , etchings , drypoints , and colographs and collages . He is best known for mixed media works combining painting and collage .
