Up for auction are TWO beautiful , hand-cut , but IMPERFECT ROGASKA HOCK WINE GLASSES in the discontinued and rare GALLIA pattern. Each of these wine glasses have a SMALL CHIP at the lip of the glass. I tried to take a picture of the glasses at the best angle to see the chips, and from the top seemed to show the chips the best. (I will be adding a few more pieces of this pattern in other auctions) This Rogaska Gallia crystal has been in my family since before the founding of Miller Rogaska Crystal in 1984 . As with any handmade product, glass objects are subject to imperfections - often in the form of tiny bubbles or pits. These are inherent in handmade products, and in no way compromise the strength or durability of the piece. In addition hand made products may have tiny exterior scratches from production, handling and unpacking. These are not considered a defect, but a normal indication of Hand Made Products. In fact, they may be considered an identifying mark of a totally unique handmade product. John Miller founded Miller Rogaska Crystal in 1984. Prior to this venture, John served as the founding president of Waterford USA for nearly twenty-five years. He is credited as being one of the industry's pioneers in bringing fine European crystal stemware and giftware to America. John Miller's inspiration for establishing the company came after visiting the Rogaska factory in what was, at the time, Yugoslavia. The factory, located in the spa village of Rogaska , Slovenia, had been producing full lead, handmade crystal for over 75 years. John was so impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of the product that he came out of his brief retirement to launch a line of crystal, combining his name with that of this world-class crystal manufacturer. Reed & Barton, one of America's oldest and most celebrated silver and giftware companies, purchased Miller Rogaska crystal in 1996, enhancing the market strength of the Miller Rogaska Crystal brand. A minimum of 24% lead content qualifies glass as full lead crystal. Miller Rogaska Crystal stemware and barware are 24% lead crystal .
