History was made at Yankee Stadium on 10/1/61, when Roger Maris took Tracy Stallard deep to set a new single-season record for home runs. Topps captured the moment with this 1962 baseball card #313, which is captioned asterisk free at bottom, with "Maris Blasts 61st". The card's four obverse photographs take us through Roger's picture perfect swing, while the reverse side lists his 1961 MVP winning stats. A perfect way to commemorate this memorable moment, this clean, glossy card reports in (VG) condition and Maris (d.1985) has signed with great authority, with his distinctive blue felt-tip signature projecting ("8-9") potency. Auction LOA from JSA.
