Up for auction is a Will Rogers and Wiley Post Commemorative Terrestrial Globe Lamp. This lamp was made by the Gibraltar Electric Company of Jersey City, NJ, shortly after Rogers and Post perished in a plane crash in 1935. The plane is depicted at the top of the lamp with W.P. and X-12-0 on the wings. The octagonal base was cut off of this lamp at some point and it now has a wooden base. I don't see any damage to the lamp and it appears to have had the socket replaced recently but is in need of restoration. The lamp measues just under 13" tall with the socket.
