Your are bidding on the the iconic Roland tr-808 Rhythm Composer. These vintage analog drum machines have become legendary among musicians, and deservedly so. I purchased this particular 808 approximately 7 years ago and have used it in my home studio. I have taken good care of it but when I recieved it already had many pre-existing issues. Since I do not live in a major metropolitan area that services analog kit, I never pursued restoration. As such, I want to clearly elaborate on each issue so that the one who purchases this item is fully aware of them. Before I go into further detail I would like to say that, despite the following issues, this machine still sounds phenomenal and I thoroughly enjoyed using it for creating and recording loops, sampling its tremendous individual sounds, layering its unmatchable kick drum into songs, etc. With a proper servicing, this 808 could be restored to a very valuable piece. Considering it's issues, I am starting the bidding at a low, and I believe fair price. Fully restored this tr-808 would be worth easily 3 times the starting price I am asking. So here are the quirks: The step key covers for steps 2, 8 , and 12 cannot fully snap back on and need to be replaced. The power cord is coming loose near the end but still functions.
