O'Connell and Roman at their best. The Pioneers came in with the best skating club of all the teams the Bombers faced in 1973 with stars Joan Weston, Sherry Erich, Darlene Forbes, Candy Jones, Ronnie Robinson, Bob Hein, Nick Scopas and Bill Hill. Bob Hein wipes out the Bomber penalty box courtesy of Charlie O'Connell on one memorable play. The Bombers skated Charlie O'Connell, Gil Orozco, Margie Lazlo, Delores Tucker, Tony Roman, James Paul, Bob Dancel, Peanuts Meyer and more. Great skating by both Robinson and O'Connell showing why they are hall of famers. End of game interview with Joan Weson talking about her upcoming interleague series with the T-Birds. Good picture quality Bombers vs Jolters 4-29-73, Kezar Pavilion - The 2x4 game that saw Buffalo Boyd chasing Jo Jo Stafford with the biggest 2x4 you ever saw bringing the Kezar crowd into a frenzy. Walt Harris calls this 2nd half game with Bud Weiner. The new attitude "hit em first" Bombers were led by Mr Roller Derby Charlie O'Connell with Marge Lazlo, Delores Tucker, Carol Meyer, Debbie Cho, Rinky Ortiz, Pete Boyd, Tony Roman, Alvin Mallory, Jim Cook, James Paul and Gil Orozco. The wild Jolters led by previous years MVP's Jan Vallow and Cal Stephens with Jerry Cattell, Jo Jo Stafford, Chris Rowe, Bob Van Kampen, Rosetta Saunders, Pam Caneva, Rose Duran and Francine Cochu. O'Connell & Boyd made sure to get their shots on Cattell and Stephens and the Bomber girls got their counterparts in an all out end of 5th period melee to make a statement. Bomber play backfires, rare to see in a home Kezar game. The women had their fair share of fights as all the major players from both teams would get into it culminating in a fantastic 7th period blowoff. End of game interview with Cal Stephens telling Walt Harris that the Bombers have gotten more aggressive than usual. Very good picture quality Chiefs vs Jolters 8-19-73, Kezar Pavilion - For Bill Groll fans this game is a real treat. The Chief Coach battles the bigger Jolters including Coach Cal Stephens and Jerry Cattell and does a terrific job. Rounding out the Jolters are Captain Jan Vallow, Pam Caneva, Rose Duran, Barbara Baker, Jo Jo Stafford, Ted Tausher and Charles Gipson. Chiefs Sandy Dunn has her hands full with 72 MVP Vallow and the rest of the physical Jolters squad. Rounding out the World Champions are Carolyn Moreland, Judy McGuire, Claudia Hobdy, Mike Gammon, Joe Perez, John Early and Sam Tiapula. Jerry Cattell constantly antagonizes the Chiefs with rough play and cheap shots but gets a wake up call at the end of 6th period in one of the best Roller Derby fights you'll ever see! And this doesn't even take place on the track! A must see for Bill Groll fans...Judy McGuire as usual carries the Chiefs jamming. Halftime interview with Gammon and McGuire, End of game interview with Groll as Walt Harris wants to manage the Chiefs coach to the light heavyweight title (rib). Good picture quality Bombers vs Jolters 5-6-73, Kezar Pavilion - Walt Harris calls this 2nd half game with Jerry Seltzer. This ranks right up there with the wildest IRDL games of 1973 with great skating and all out brawling. The wild Jolters were led by Coach Cal Stephens with Jerry Cattell, Jo Jo Stafford, Bob Van Kampen, Larry Smith, Jan Vallow, Rosetta Saunders, Rose Duran, Pam Caneva and Francine Cochu.
