Romantic Victorian/Civil War Era 9K Gold Woven Hair Locket/Pendant c.1860-70 Romantic Victorian 9K (tested/unmarked) gold locket/pendant. It is in suberb condition. It has some of the prettiest hand-engraving that I have seen on a locket of this type. Front side has wonderful etched swirls and a center cartouche containing the message, "F to R". Likely a romantic token from a gentleman to a lady during the Victorian age/Civil War era. The other side has a tightly woven (very well preserved) brown hair memento (likely the man's hair) under beveled rock crystal. This piece was likely worn when "F" went to war and left "R" behind....so romantic...The crystal has a tiny scratch at about 9:00, but it is otherwise in very fine condition. Locket has a jump ring/bail (also gold) at the top, so it can be threaded easily with a chain or a pretty velvet cord. The locket measures 1" long (not including the bail) x .75" wide
