Offering this large book titled: Romeo and Juliet (by William Shakespeare) Author: F. Dicksee, A.R.A.; 12 photogravures by Messrs Goupil & Co; with an introduction by Edward Dowden, LL.D., professor of English Lit, University of Dublin. Publisher & Date: Cassell & Company Ltd, London, 1884 Condition: 17 1/2" x 14", hard cover has a green silk type cloth covering w/ impressed gold lettering. Has soiling and edge & spine wear. cover has come away from pages in back and starting to come away from front - second page in. Inside front and back covers are white moire paper. Pages are uneven cut due to hand cutting and assembling. Beautiful heavy thick paper. Twelve lovely photogravures, each has an onion skin cover page. Lovely typeset printing. Pages for the most part are clean, slight aging & wear along edges due to the uneven cut, no loose pages. There is an inscription on inside front first page - a gift inscription. Otherwise, there are no scribbles, no missing pages. Total 67 pages. More photos are available if you would like to email us.
