You are bidding on a museum quality feelie by internationally renowned ceramist Rose Cabat. DESCRIPTION: This elegant tall feelie rises up from its pedestal base into a rounded bulbous section before gracefully tapering upwards. T is another well placed rounded “swell” just beneath its nicely proportioned neck and fully formed, gently flared lip. The upper portion of the feelie has a golden onion skin glaze that breaks into a series of vertical veins that cascade over a lustrous matte mottled brown underglaze. The feelie stands a hair shy of 4” tall and measures 2 1/8” at its widest. It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs. (T are a few pin prick sized glaze misses that are of no significance but mentioned in the interest of full disclosure.) The feelie is signed on the bottom. ABOUT ROSE CABAT: Rose Cabat was born in 1914 and was drawn to art as a child. In 1936, she married fellow artist and childhood playmate Erni Cabat. He bought her a membership to the Greenwich Settlement House and encouraged her to take some classes on pottery.
