Rare Blue Jasperware Rose O'Neill Kewpie Doll Vase - Germany -Fully impressed on bottom This piece is in mint condition 6 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" Beautiful piece, fresh on the market - I am starting it low with NO RESERVE!!! Few dolls have made an impact on American Life to rival that of the famous Kewpie doll. Created in 1909 by Rose O'Neill, Kewpie first appeared as magazine illustrations and in advertisements. Its greatest impact was achieved with the introduction of the porcelain bisque dolls and figurines, which were first sold in 1913. Kewpie has been continuously produced ever since and remains enduringly popular even after 90 years! Rose O'Neill was a remarkable turn-of-the century illustrator and artist, as well as a great philanthropist, poet and novelist. Her Cameo Kewpies could be found battling injustice, promoting women's suffrage and other noble causes. US Shipping will be $8.95 which includes insurance.
